After some consideration I've decided to take part in the #WIP500 challenge at Cara Michael's Defiantly Literate. I must admit that the decision would have been a no-brainer had it been called the #WIP250. I'm not worried about writing 500 words on a given day but I am concerned at how zero-word days will start raising the daily totals. The pace is nothing like NaNoWriMo but the overall distance is greater.
I'm reminded a little of Teching Hsieh's "One Year Peformances", not that I'd directly compare #WIP500 to literally locking oneself in a cage for a year, etc.
